T-Mobile to acquire Mint Mobile for up to $1.35bn
T-Mobile stated on Wednesday that it intends to purchase Ka’ena Corporation and its subsidiaries, including Mint Mobile, for up to $1.35 billion in cash and stock. The acquisition also includes wireless provider Ultra Mobile and wholesaler Plum. T- Mobile‘s decision to pay a premium for the acquisition is thought to have been influenced by Ryan Reynolds, who fronts most of Mint Mobile’s marketing and holds an ownership stake in the company. According to CEO Mike Sievert, Mint Mobile’s innovative marketing approach, led by Reynolds, will be adapted to other sectors of T-Mobile. Reynolds is required to remain with the company for an unspecified amount of time under the terms of the agreement.

Meta Platforms to layoff an additional 10,000 employees
Meta Platforms is laying off 10,000 employees as part of its continued attempts to improve its financial performance, with CEO Mark Zuckerberg citing higher interest rates, geopolitical instability and greater regulation as reasons that are limiting growth and boosting expenses. The corporation is also abandoning plans to fill 5,000 open positions. The organization will be flattened, lower-priority projects will be canceled, and recruiting quotas will be reduced as part of the restructuring plans. According to Zuckerberg, the corporation intends to disclose layoffs in its tech divisions “in late April”, with business groups following in May.

Ooma Office wins Best VoIP System award for the tenth consecutive year
For the tenth year in a row, Ooma Office, a smart communications platform for companies and individuals, has earned PCMag’s Best VoIP System award. The award is based on the magazine’s annual Business Choice reader polls, with Ooma emerging as the top VoIP phone service provider among 18 candidates that included RingCentral, Microsoft Teams, Vonage and Google Voice. Ooma’s overall satisfaction score of 8.6 out of 10 is a half a point more than the second-place finisher, and 1.3 points higher than the average for all 18 VoIP service providers evaluated.

Dish customers in the dark about personal data after ransomware attack
Customers are still unsure whether their personal data is at risk two weeks after a ransomware assault on Dish. Dish acknowledged the ransomware attack and warned that hackers stole data that “may” have included customer information. Several customers have reported that they have been unable to access their accounts or contact customer support, and some claim to have been targeted by phishing attempts that have taken advantage of the incident’s ambiguity. Dish has not offered a meaningful update, but a former Dish retailer believes the breach may affect more than the 10 million Dish customers . The assailants’ identities are unknown.
