In a strategic move to bolster its European presence, nLighten, the digital infrastructure platform under the umbrella of I Squared Capital, a renowned global infrastructure investor, has successfully acquired Gyro Center (“Gyro”), a high-performance data center situated in Amsterdam. This acquisition marks a significant stride for nLighten as it progresses towards realizing its ambition of establishing and operating the foremost data center platform in Europe.

The Netherlands stands as a pivotal player in the European data center market, boasting a robust infrastructure, stable power supply, and a prime location. Amsterdam, in particular, holds prominence as a crucial European Internet hub and a key destination for the international data center industry, alongside major cities like London, Paris, and Frankfurt.

Gyro, a carrier-neutral data center, distinguishes itself by sourcing 100% renewable energy and actively managing energy consumption, aligning seamlessly with nLighten’s commitment to delivering services in a sustainable and responsible manner. The facility, located in an optimal area known for connectivity, security, and availability, provides a personalized approach and boasts 24/7 on-site IT staff. To elevate Gyro to state-of-the-art standards, structural enhancements in line with Tier III specifications are on the horizon, accompanied by a modernization of the cooling system.

Harro Beusker, co-founder and CEO of nLighten, expressed the company’s dedication to establishing the premier data center platform in Europe. “Following our successful ventures in Germany, France, and the UK, our expansion into the Netherlands represents another crucial step in covering important and attractive business locations,” he stated.

As nLighten continues to forge ahead, this acquisition positions the company at the forefront of the dynamic European data center landscape, strengthening its commitment to sustainability and operational excellence.
