The telecommunications magnate in Italy’s B2B market, Retelit, recently welcomed on board Jorge Álvarez as the new Chief Executive Officer and General Manager, taking over from Federico Protto. Protto will remain within the Group transiently, offering his support to the Board of Directors in this transitional period.
In moving into this new role, Álvarez steers the Group into a new era of growth, following its consolidation with Irideos. With the acquisition of Irideos now finalized and the integration of the Retelit Group underway, Protto has passed on the CEO baton to explore fresh professional opportunties.
Jesús Olmos, CEO of Asterion Industrial Partners, expressed great pleasure in welcoming Álvarez, former Operating Partner at Asterion, onboard Retelit. Olmos appreciates the valuable experience that Álvarez brings to the table, which he believes will optimally exploit the investments made.

Álvarez took his position with pride, appreciating the exceptional team of over 1,000 professionals at Retelit who make daily digital connections possible. He described Retelit as a “unique player, the partner of choice for operators, OTTs, and hyperscalers, and a digital enabler for companies, enterprises, and the public sector”.
