T-Mobile and Fliggs Mobile have forged a captivating partnership, branding themselves as pioneers with the launch of an exclusively digital Web 3 Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO). Aiming to position themselves as facilitators of Web 3 mass adoption, they have tailored their services to cater to the digital world’s pulse.

In doing so, Fliggs Mobile has engineered a non-custodial wallet directly into its mobile app – reported to be the first MVNO to offer a decentralized ID. Furthermore, it grants consumers blanket access to Web3 and Financial Technology services, including the revolutionary potential to manage cryptocurrency payments.

The tech fruition of this initiative rests on Moflix, a platform considered distinctively competent to usher in a seamless amalgamation of mobile services and Web 3. The partnership’s strength blooms with Hedera, defined as a public network of open-source, enterprise-grade capabilities, permitting the integration of a bundle of Web 3 services within the app.

Adding to this lineup of collaborations, a partnership with the non-profit The Hashgraph Association blossomed, resulting in both funding and technical engineering support.

Stefan Riedel, CEO of Fliggs Mobile, praised the collaboration, affirming, “Thanks to our collaboration with T-Mobile, we are able to deliver top quality mobile services and affordable mobile plans to our customers”. Notably, he emphasized, “With the mobile subscription and a mobile super-app as potent enablers for providing a simple and secure gate to Web3, we are determined to make leading technologies affordable and accessible to everyone.”

Counterpart Dan Thygesen, Senior Vice President of T-Mobile Wholesale, echoed these sentiments, expressing great excitement over their collaborative endeavour, particularly over its distinctive construct.

The official launch of this distinctive mobile service is slated for the first quarter of 2024.

Web 3 is a complicated concept associated with decentralization and blockchain technologies, attributed chiefly to Bitcoin and non-fungible tokens (NFTs). This new MVNO’s allure may initially resonate with technology enthusiasts familiar with such concepts. However, with Fliggs flying under the banner of ‘enabling Web 3 mass adoption’, its goals clearly stretch beyond this initial crowd, envisioning a more extensive audience in the long term.
