University of Surrey to research greener telecom networks

The University of Surrey has secured a £12 million grant to research the development of more sustainable and resilient telecommunications networks. The 5/6G Innovation Centre at the University of Surrey will act as the project manager for the TUDOR (Towards Ubiquitous 3D Open Resilient Network) initiative, which will investigate the technologies that could be used in a future mobile network that is projected to be more open and scalable. Nokia in an analytics software deal with BT Group

Nokia and BT have announced an expansion of their relationship with a five-year agreement for Nokia’s AVA Analytics software for fixed networks. This software will help the UK operator improve its subscriber experience by using AI and machine learning to enhance network monitoring.
