Infosys, a global leader in consulting and technology services, has entered into a significant €1.5 billion, five-year partnership with Liberty Global, a leading international telecommunications and entertainment company. The collaboration aims to deepen their ties across the realms of digital entertainment and connectivity.

As part of this new agreement, Infosys will assume responsibility for the construction and management of Liberty Global’s Horizon entertainment and connectivity platforms. A key highlight of this venture is the incorporation of Infosys’ cutting-edge Topaz AI technology. Salil Parekh, the CEO and MD at Infosys, expressed enthusiasm for the partnership, stating, “We are excited to bring Infosys Topaz to enable transformative AI-first capabilities to complement the cloud-first digital foundation we have laid for Liberty Global using Infosys Cobalt. This will unveil a new chapter in our joint journey of innovation as we reimagine entertainment and the connectivity experience for millions of global consumers.”

The partnership holds the potential to expand beyond the initial five-year term, with the deal’s worth reaching €2.3 billion if extended to eight years. This extension will also enable the Horizon platform to reach an even broader customer base, granting access to an array of digital entertainment and connectivity services.

An essential component of the collaboration involves over 500 senior executives and technology teams from Liberty Global transitioning to Infosys. These individuals, hailing from Liberty Global’s Product, Technology Development Service Delivery Group Network & Shared Operations and Security Groups, will contribute their expertise to further enhance the innovation drive.

Mike Fries, CEO of Liberty Global, expressed his excitement about the deepening partnership, stating, “Strengthening and expanding our collaboration with Infosys gives our best-in-class solutions new scale with the ability to reach many more markets and bring positive experiences to more customers. We look forward to working together to accelerate innovation and make our entertainment solutions even more powerful and engaging as new generations of digital-first customers continue to demand more from us all.”

This collaboration not only signifies a significant step towards redefining the digital entertainment landscape but also highlights the synergy between two industry giants poised to reshape the connectivity experience for a global audience.
